HAJJ ROAMING PACKAGE

Ethio telecom, in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Ethiopia (EIASC), is offering a special Hajj roaming package for pilgrims.

Honoring the spiritual significance of Hajj, believers traveling to perform this sacred pilgrimage can access specially curated roaming packages—including data, voice, and combined options available via Ethio Gebeta (999#) and telebirr.

  1. Eligibility
  • This service is exclusively available to phone numbers registered for the Hajj pilgrimage through the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Ethiopia (EIASC).
  1. Purchase options
  • Hajj pilgrims can purchase the Hajj roaming package on Ethio Gebeta, by dialing 127, through the telebirr SuperApp, the My Ethiotel app, and on CRM.
  • The package is available for self-purchase and as a gift.
  1. Validity
  • The Hajj Roaming Package is available until June 30, 2025.
  • Each package remains valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.
  1. Out of Bundle Usage
  • The Hajj roaming package includes 75 minutes of calling in Ethiopia and receiving 70 minutes of calling.
  • Hajj packages do not include the use of Saudi numbers, calls to international destinations from Saudi Arabia, data and short text messages.
  • Any usage beyond the package limits will be charged according to the standard roaming tariffs.

  1. Roaming Service Activation
  • Prepaid customers located on the EIASC list will instantly receive it when they sign up for the roaming service.
  • Prepaid customers not registered under the EIASC can request the service by sending an SMS 8994 or through our social media (Facebook, Ek, Telegram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Instagram) platforms.
  • Postpaid customers must visit an Ethio telecom service center and make a deposit of 10,000 Birr to activate the roaming service
