Ethio telecom CEO and Somcable Leadership Discuss Strategic Collaboration to Accelerate Digital Growth in Overseas Markets
Ethio telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamru hosted a high-level strategic discussion with a delegation from Somcable, led by Chairman Mohamed Said Guedi and CEO Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed, aimed at forging a strategic partnership in international digital and telecommunications business, with a strong focus on cross-border collaboration.
The discussion centered on accelerating growth in potential overseas markets through advanced digital and communication solutions, in alignment with Ethio telecom’s strategic direction.
During the visit, the CEO briefed the delegation on the company’s transformation journey, past performance, and forward-looking strategic priorities, highlighting Ethio telecom’s institutional strengths and extensive infrastructure capabilities. She reaffirmed the company’s readiness to collaborate with Somcable to unlock new opportunities and drive mutual, sustainable growth.
In line with Ethio telecom’s “Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028” strategy, the CEO emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding digital solutions beyond national borders, stating:

Furthermore, the leadership of both companies agreed to expand their existing business relationship by enhancing the current international internet capacity lease agreement and exploring additional areas of strategic collaboration.
